Buying Cheap Solar Panels

Cheap Solar Panels Overview:

For everyone who is interested in buying a solar power system, there is an obvious need of solar panels.  These are going to be some of the most expensive parts of the overall system.  What everyone should realize is that there are several ways to cut solar costs, but you need to make sure you are buying the cheapest panels possible.  As the years have moved on, solar panel manufacturing has become more and more exact, and the builders of the actual panels are starting to lower prices as efficiency is getting better.

Cheapest Solar Panels:

By far, the cheapest solar panels are built by General Electric Company.  Sanyo also makes cheap solar panels in terms of costs, but their actual efficiency is not nearly as good.  If you are looking to get the best bargain on solar, and you are planning on using a local solar installer, you have several options to ensure you get the best deal.

First: Make sure to get several different bids on solar systems, and make sure to have the proposal detail what the solar panel cost portion is.

Second: Call some solar companies in other states to see if they are able to sell solar panels separately to you at a better price.

Third: Make sure the solar panels come with a full manufacturer’s warranty and the warranty is included in the overall solar panel price.

Buying Solar Panels From Wholesale Distributors:

Solar panels make it to rooftops in a few different ways.  The most common way is through wholesale distributors.  When the solar panels are manufactured(usually over in China), they eventually make it over the ocean on a cargo ship and are then sold to a wholesale warehouse.  These wholesalers or distributors will then resell the solar panels at a higher price to local solar installers.  Sometimes there are even more wholesalers who increase the prices up once again.  Your best way to find the cheapest solar panels is to purchase them as close to the distributors as possible.  This will get you a cheap panel without too many markups.

Do It Yourself Solar:

If you are wanting to cut costs even more, you can simply make and install the solar system yourself.  This will allow you to purchase the system from a local or regional wholesalers at solar prices that are competitive and cut out the markup the local installers add to the costs.  In many cases this will get you a solar system at up to 50% off the typical price your neighbor would be paying.
